For English users TalenQuest is the Dutch name used on this website for WebQuests specifically meant for learning foreign languages (Talen=languages). The inspiration for this site comes from Bernie Dodge's WebQuest Page at San Diego State University. Please have a look at the CALL/TalenQuest site about WebQuests for Modern Languages. See a.o. Can you tell a LanguageQuest when you see one? Design criteria for TalenQuests. In this paper we describe the theoretical framework for the design rubric developed in the 'TalenQuest' project. This Dutch project aims to customize the WebQuest concept for foreign language learning and teaching. The assessment instrument with its essential features for effective LanguageQuest design is presented. The relevant concepts and principles from second language acquisition theory and cognitive psychology on which it is based are described. In February 2006 an international workshop about TalenQuest will be held at the ECML in Graz. The workshop is aimed at teacher trainers and material developers.
